The Mercure Bridgwater is new hotel opening Summer 2018, with an enviable location in the centre of Bridgwater.

The hotel will be deeply routed within the locality, with much of the interior design reflecting the diverse history of Bridgwater though bedroom artwork and unique shower backdrops. The hotel will have 119 bedrooms, most with floor to ceiling windows allowing for bright and airy rooms.

In some rooms you can step out on to private balconies overlooking Bridgwater and Somerset. Our Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill is located on the ground floor. A light and open plan space creating a relaxed atmosphere, specialising in the very best in fresh seasonal produce served without fuss. Our lounge will offer a large and varied wine, champagne and cocktail list as well as a more informal menu. And for those who overindulge we have a gym! We have two meeting rooms aptly named after two key industries in the town, The Foundary and The Quays. Seating up to a maximum of 30 delegates in various layouts, these rooms are ideal for business meetings, training event as well as those important special occasions.

    Marco Pierre White is an acclaimed chef, restauranteur and TV personality and his Steakhouse Bar and Grill located on the ground floor of the hotel and is set to become a regional favorite for foodies whether staying with us at the hotel or not.

    Our restaurant is about enjoying your evening, with excellent food and drink in luxurious surroundings and quite simply having a good time.

     

    Steakhouse Bar & Grill treats guests to signature steaks, timeless English and French classics, and a comprehensive selection of premium cocktails, all delivered with Marco’s unique flair.

    The menu is exclusively curated by Marco himself and executed by our talented team of chefs. To suit all tastes, it typically includes a mix of childhood favourites and modern day delicacies – ranging from the Classic 1970’s Prawn Cocktail and The Governor’s Steak and Ale Pie, to Baked Camembert and a selection of 35-day aged native breed steaks. Marco’s ethos is all about classic dishes, simply cooked using the best locally sourced ingredients.

    The Foundry

    The Foundry – located just off the main lobby area. A room with ample natural daylight, can be configuered in various seating arrangements, integrated audio visual and black out curtains.

    The Quays

    The Quays – A self-contained meeting room with its own entrance, small lobby area and meeting room set in permenant boardroom layout. Ample natural daylight, black out curtains as well as fully integrated audio visual.

    Refreshments can be taken in ether meeting room from the bean to cup coffee machine and selection of herbal teas or delegates can move in to our lounge area in the main hotel. Various lunch options will be available from working lunches, buffets or upgrade to lunch within our Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill.

    THE BLAKE MUSEUM

    Blake Museum is a 16th century house located in the heart of Bridgwater, a historic market town and port, first mentioned as Brugie in the Domesday Book of 1086.  The Museum was first opened to the public in 1926 and it is said that Robert Blake, the town’s most famous citizen, was born in the house in 1598.     SOMERSET BRICK AND TILE MUSEUM

    The museum is dedicated to the local industry of brick and tile making, one of the many labour-intensive coal based industries once found in Somerset.     OATLEY VINEYARD

    A small, family run, eco-friendly Vineyard since 1986 on a gentle South East slope of red soil between the Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel. Harvested by hand with family, friends and volunteers. Creating two dry, white varietal wines each year and mature one barrique’s worth in oak, giving a special, limited-edition oaked wine in addition. You can visit throughout the summer, 11am-5.30pm. Afterwards take a stroll through the medieval village of Dunster, with over 200 listed buildings Dunster is preserved so that generations to come can enjoy the historic qualities of this unique village.     Fyne Court is a hidden gem in the heart of the Quantock Hills. The estate was the home of the Crosse family who lived here until the house was destroyed by fire in 1894. Enjoy one of the three trails, take in the wild garden, with plenty for the children to do including building a den, climbing a tree and hunting for bugs.     From North, Take J23 off M5, At roundabout turn right A39 Bridgwater. At next roundabout take the First Exit A38 Bridgwater. At Cross Rifles Roundabout continue on A38 taking the Second Exit. At the traffic lights Turn Right onto Eastover and Hotel is immediately on the Left.

    From South, Take J24 off M5, At the roundabout take the First Exit to A39 Bridgwater, at the second roundabout take the exit for A38 Bridgwater. Continue on A38 and at the T Junction (Esso Garage) Turn Right on to Broadway and keep in left lane. Continue straight and take a left on to Eastover, you will see the Hotel on your Left.

    Parking is chargeable. There are 13 spaces in the hotel Courtyard, with additional spaces located at Barclay Street Car Park (TA6 5HP). Other Pay Display public car parks are in the area.

    If you are parking at the offsite locations please note that directions take you directly to the hotel. For Barclay Street Car park please follow the below directions.
    Barclay Street Car Park – From North:Take J23 off M5, At roundabout turn right A39 Bridgwater. At next roundabout take the First Exit A38 Bridgwater. At Cross Rifles Roundabout continue on A38 taking the Second Exit. At the traffic lights Turn Left onto St John Street and right on to Barclay Street, follow down to the car park. From the car park cross over to the hotel entrance on Eastover.

    Barclay Street Car Park – From South: Take J24 off M5, At the roundabout take the First Exit to A39 Bridgwater, at the second roundabout take the exit for A38 Bridgwater. Continue on A38 and at the T Junction (Esso Garage) Turn Right on to Broadway and keep in right lane, at traffic lights turn right and immediate left on to Cranleigh Gardens. Continue to end of road and turn left on to Salmon Parade, then next left on to Barclay Street. From the car park cross over to the hotel entrance on Eastover.
