The silver screen returns to the Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel, with a 60s twist

Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel’s pop-up outdoor cinema is back by popular demand, following the success of the fabulous summer screening of The Greatest Showman (2017). The hotel is pleased to announce the next cinema pop-up screening will be of Hairspray (2007), on Friday 14 September.

Take your spot on the Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel’s picturesque lawns and sip on the complimentary welcome cocktail, whilst songs of the swinging 60s set the scene for a night of movie magic. Then, snuggle into your favourite blanket or picnic chairs for curtains up, at dusk.

Based on the 2002 Broadway musical of the same name, the musical romantic comedy is set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland. The film follows “pleasantly plump” teenager Tracy Turnblad in her pursuit of stardom, to dance on a local TV show, whilst rallying against racial segregation in her community. The all-star cast includes, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow and Zac Efron and was an instant hit, receiving rave reviews and awards after its international big screen release.

Tickets are available from See Tickets and are priced from £14.95 per adult, or £9.95 for children (aged 12-16 years). Family tickets are also available at £48.15, for two adults and two children. The hotel’s Rivers Edge restaurant will be open to purchase snacks or meals before the musical extravaganza.
